Trouble joining Subdomain over slow link

I have the Root Domain Controller connected with a 64k
link (VPN),When I install a sub-domain in my network
here,the RPC Service fails at the very last minute of
synchronization.Nothing in the logs though.

Have you checked in c:\winnt\debug\dcpromo.log, it usually has useful
information.
Before running dcpromo again, run a netdiag /v first to try and weed out any
errors. I would guess that as the process started successfully your DNS
config should be OK but it never hurts to check that as well.

Thank you Guys,I shall take both of your suggestions even
though the laptop situation is something I would like to
avoid
