Hi Folks,

Just got a used keyboard which i like a lot; Microsoft nautural ergonomic
4000 .
downloaded the driver from MS website, but it always stalls with the error,

"setup must chose because an error occurred. Verify that your computer meets
the requirements on the product packaging. Restart your computer and try
running setup again. (error code 1603)."

I just downloaded this driver from MS website. My computer is up to date
(XP pro / SP3). Restarted, but same error.

any help would be appreciated!

thanks

seems like some stuff on the net about HID devices (above keyboard is USB)
needing some sort of reg hack to make them work, but cannot find it.

also, perhaps some issue on USB2 ... onboard XP help under "installing USB
2.0 controller drivers", says that the USB controllers in device mgr must
have "enhanced" in their name or they are not USB2 ....? none of mine say
"enhanced". does that mean I have older USB hubs? (mine is not an old
computer; P4 - 3.2 GHz) ... how can I be sure they are USB2 hubs?

it burns me that i pay so much for this operating system and have to waste
so much time trouble-shooting problems that come with microsoft products.
