Can I Assign "My Computer" to a Keyboard Favorite's Key?

Bought a new keyboard last week and just today discovered it doesn't have a
"My Computer" (opens to show all my drives) key. The new keyboard is MS
Natural Ergonomic 4000 model. There are 5 "Favorite" keys that can be
assigned to websites, files or folders. I can't figure out how to assign
"My Computer". There is also an "Open" key that can be configured. Does
anyone know if either of these can open "My Computer"? I'm not able to
figure it out.
Thanks,
Monica

I know what the help files say. I've (without having to read the help
files) successfully assigned websites and, for testing purposes, a picture
file. Maybe linking to "My Computer" isn't possible. Before I giving up,
I'm asking here. Thanks for the reply.

Try this...

For the path to "My Computer" enter just three periods, "..."

You can also use WinKey+E to open "My Computer".

OMGosh, it worked! Thank you SO much :) Now, if it's not too much trouble,
can you explain WHY it works? <lol> Hummm, I just typed ... into the Run
command and (I guess no surprise to you) it worked :blush: Thanks again :)

I'm not exactly sure why it works. I was doing something a while back and somehow
when I clicked the OK button on the Run box, "My Computer" opened and I saw that
there were just three periods in the Run box. I just remembered when I saw your
question.

Here is the official way to create a shortcut to "My Computer":

Open "My Computer" with the tasks pane displayed (normal view):
%SYSTEMROOT%\explorer.exe ::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Open "My Computer" with the folder tree displayed (explorer view):
%SYSTEMROOT%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

You don't need three, one works.

One brings up Documents and Settings\user.
Two brings up Documents and Settings.
Three brings up My Computer.
