Trojan.Vundo fix needed

I was working on a PC today and it had the Trojan.Vundo Virus. I downloaded a
fix tool from Symantec and ran it. At the end of the scan i checked the
results only to find that it had not been found.
I than ran a virus scan on the affected c:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/pmnlj.dll file
and it came back as infected but Norton could neither Quarintine or delete so
that it would resolve the problem. I am now left with a Norton message that
wont go away as it says that ther PC is infected.
I tried to delete the file manually but it could not be deleted as it was
being used by the Operating System i think(also tried in Safe Mode)
Can anyone help???

Here's some more specific directions:

If you don't want to use the McAfee product I think you'll find most current
anti-virus or anti-trojan apps have that definition covered. Note that they
want you to suspend explorer.exe and winlogin.exe so you'll want to use ctrl
+ alt + del to go ahead and navigate to the AV app to scan with.
