Safe Mode Black Screen

I was trying to remove trojan.vundo virus. Norton directions were to go
into safe mode and try to manually run norton and delete this file. I went
into msconf and the boot.ini file and went into safe mode. now all I get is
a black screen with safe mode in white in the corners. How can I get past
this screen?

Hi,

Click ctrl+shift+escape, then kill explorer.exe on the processes tab. On the
applications tab, click new task and restart explorer.exe. See if this gets
you by the screen. If not, we can manually edit boot.ini to get you back
into normal mode.

I'm having the same problem. It seems to be a catch 22, you need to be in
safe mode to remove the trojan but the trojan is messing up safe mode. I
haven't found a good solution to this problem.
