I just ran Microsoft Antispy ware scan. I found 2
Problems. (1) is isass.exe which I under stand is a Virus
(2) SYSYTM which is a Trojan.
Why didn't the scan remove them? How do I remove them?

Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (beta) is not an anti-virus
removal tool.

Isass.exe file information
The process belongs to the software unknown by unknown.

Description: Isass.exe is located in the folder
C:\Windows\System32. The file size on Windows XP is 30720
bytes.

There is no description of the program. The process starts
when Windows starts (see Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\RunServices,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Run). It is not a Windows system file. The program is
not visible. It is an unknown file in the Windows folder.

Isass.exe is able to monitor applications. Therefore the
technical security rating is 6% dangerous.

External information from Paul Collins:
There are different files with the same name:

"GLSetIT32" definitely not required. Added by a variant of
the OPTIX PRO TROJAN!

"Isass" definitely not required.

Important: Some malware can camouflage themselves as
Isass.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows
or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the Isass.exe
process on your pc whether it is pest.

Try this:

europe.com/consumer/housecall/housecall_launch.php

this on line scan is very effective.

Good luck

Try:

1) update your antispyware and antivirus definitions.
2) restart in safe mode by pressing f8 periodically as the machine starts,
before the first Windows screen appears.
3) do full deep scans with Microsoft Antispyware, until a scan comes through
clean.

Do similar scans with your antivirus application.

4) restart normally.

This isn't a sure-fire recipe for success, but a number of situations in
which the threat is properly identified but not cleaned, are susceptable to
this procedure.

Hello dlbeeman

I try before the house call.

I don´t have any opinion about Norton 2005, since I never
had to be used.
