Trojan returns

I have a friend who keeps getting the trojanhorse generic. This is detected
by AVG and is now in vault. However it keeps coming back. We have turned off
system restore ran microsoft antivirus, spybot and adaware. But this thing
keep appear every few days can anyone give me a tip on what to do? This time
it says its in c:/system volume information/restore and then a whole string
of letters.

Did you do the scan in safe mode also?

No...how do you do that using xp home???Does system restore have to be off at
that time also.

F8 before it reaches the Splash screen, a list of
options will then pop up, use your up and down arrow key to move through the
list of options, selection Safe Mode, press enter and Windows will boot into
safe mode.
