trojan.gema virus

Norton anti-virus scan identifies "Trojan.Gema" virus but
cannot correct/quarantine/delete instance in
path: "C:\windows\system32\prefetch\pixelsvr.exe".

What can I do to fix ... and prevent in future?

I am running XP Pro amd have installed all security
patches. Also, I have Norton anti-virus program enabled,
but may need to tune configuration...

I have Norton Systems Works (which I purchased separately
and installed during 2003). When I first ran the Norton
Anti-Virus program against the trojan virus, it would not
delete it because the infected file was in use. I had to
restart my computer in "safe" mode and then re-run the
Norton Anti-Virus program. This time it deleted the
infected file (it has three
options: "fix", "quarantine", or "delete" and only uses
delete if it can't do one of the other actions). Now, my
virus infection is gone - but so is the file it
infected. So I am now trying to find out how I can
reload a clean copy of the deleted file.

If you have the Norton program, you can try running it
after restarting your computer in "safe" mode. It may
simply fix your file and then you just need to restart
your computer again in normal mode and you're done. See
Norton's home page (www.norton.com) for more information.
