Trojan.Download virus

I get a Norton pop up stating that I have the Trojan.Download virus in
file...windows/system 32/orux[^adll.... Norton pop up states that it cannot
fix problem. I cannot delete file or remove virus. Now what? Also, I
cannot get rid of Norton pop up.

dont need norton pop ups , sp2 has pop up blocker, as too the trojan, there
are many free sites that will get rid of it

And (3) turn off System Restore first before restarting in Safe Mode.
Many modern trojans hide in System Restore, and therefor cannot be removed.

Yes, but that leaves you with no Restore Points at all, even good ones,
which is kinda risky.

A better idea would be to (1) clean out the malware, (2) create a new
Restore Point, and then (3) go to Disk Cleanup > Other options [tab] and
'Delete all but the most recent Restore Point.' This way you'll never be
without any Restore Points during the cleanup operation.
