help on trojan adwaheck, i am stupid, i know it, ok? but
i got the stupid trojan adwaheck, i ran a virus scan, and
deleted it. however, i forgot to write down the path
name and when i went to the regestry to delete it any
files associated with it, i couldn't remember what to
delete. i do now that when norton "caught it" it
said "c/winn/system 32/dmconfig exe". when i go to the
regestry, i only have two of the "c/winn/system 32 do-
hickies. any suggestions at all would be much
appreciated. i can't believe that i am so stupid.
thanks so much to anyone who can offer any hope to a
little ol gray haired lady.

thanks to both of you so much, however, i don't think i stated my problem clearly. when i ran my anit virus, it flagged it for me and i deleted it from the norton anti virus box, however, i failed to note the path name etc so that i could delete it from the registry. so i did one step, but now don't know how to complete the second step (removing any value that refers to any file detected as trojan adwaheck). so any help in completing step two would be much appreciated - i did go to 1xoftspy and down load there "pay" version of spy removal and ran that. but just not sure if the problem is solved if i don't remove any adwaheck value from my "registry" as instructed by the removal instructions from symantec
thanks so muc

Am not reading you too clear within your spelling. If you know the key
(which it seems you don't), I could lead you there in the registry. That
said, go to Start/Run and type in: regedit and hit enter.

Once there, go to Edit/Find and type in what you are needing to remove.
When one shows up, go back to Edit and hit Find Next.

General checkpoints are here and ....Software, period:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Good luck!
