Tricky domain user desktop issue . .

Hullo all,
Thanks for taking a look at my problem. I have a small network of a
dozen WinXP machines that I recently converted into an AD with a Win2K
server. Before the conversion process, all users were logging on locally,
most of whom were relying on the same machine day in and day out. I've been
working on migrating their local profiles into their new domain accounts.
Since these users will still use the same machine on a regular basis, I took
the advice of an older post I read here. I simply set up their domain
account to roam into their old local account, copy and cache the profile on
their first login, and then set their account back to local profiling.
This worked fine except for one minor issue. All my domain users
strangely have desktops that resemble Win2K instead of XP except for my own
account which has domain admin. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Oh,
I did change the GPO setting for Folder Redirection : Desktop on this OU to
"Basic (Redirect everyone's folder to the same location" > "Redirect to the
local userprofile location". (Did this because I was testing out Folder
Redirection and wanted to make sure all the accounts returned to default
settings of using the local profile's desktop.) None of the other GPO
settings have been touched in any way for this OU.
Thanks in advance.
