Trendline - 2nd Y axis

Does the trendline feature only work from the primary Y axis or can I
get a trendline based on the 2nd Y axis.

I have just (in the last 3 mins) made an XY chart with x from 1 to 10, y =
2*x and z=1000*x+500
Gave z a secondary axis
Gave each of y and z a trendline and the equations are correct.
So yes, you can
I am not being rude, just curious. Did you try a simple experiment and have
trouble getting two trendlines?

I surely did try two axis. I use charting alot.

This particular chart has recovery in percent on the primary Y axis
and fish size in lbs on the secondary axis.

I can get a trendline on the primary Y axis, but nothing shows up for
a trendline on the secondary axis.

Wonder if the units have to be the same?? Nope.

Just ran your little test with percents on either axis and numbers on
either axis and could create trendlines at will.

Guess i will have to try to isolate the issue in some other way.

Thanks for the offer.
this is from a very large spreadsheet with lots of data, and as I was
editing it to send to you I looked at the source info.

There was no second category X-axis info. I populated the second
category X-axis and BINGO, my trendline appeared.

I removed the second category X-axis info, and the treadline
disappeared.

I then retested your example, in the same fashion, and the trendline
WILL appear WITHOUT the seconday category X-axis info.

I have a solution to my problem, but now a new puzzle.

I will send both files to you for your perusal.

This was resolved by making the chart with both series in one step, not
using Copy & Paste Special to add the second data series
