What is this Trend ChipAwayVirus(R) On Guard ?

I once ran the online Trend House Call - is this a leftover ?
Or is it part of the bios ?

If it's a leftover, how can I get rid of it ?

I just noticed it listedon the boot up screen after the Bios name and
version number, and before the detection of the primary master/slave drives

It's built into the BIOS on some PCs. It alerts when something tries
to write to the boot sector.

You should be able to enable/disable it using your BIOS setup
facility. Which key to press to get into the BIOS setup during the
bootup process varies. On my PC it's the F1 key.
