Traxdata 8x @ 2x

Glitch

I bought a 10 disc spindle of Traxdata 8x DVD-R(Ritek G05) because the
shop didn't have Traxdata 4x DVD-R(Ritek G04) which I usually buy.The
salesman told me that the Ritek G04 and G05 basically the same except
the G05 has higher burn speed, but he also said that I should have no
problem burning it at G04 speeds(2x for PS2 backups and 4x for
everything else) with my Liteon LDW-451S.
DVD Identifier states that G05 can be burned at anything from 1x to
8x,but neither Nero,CloneCD5,Dvd Decrypter or Alcohol 120% will allow my
burner to set the speed to 2x,they only allow 4x.
Any ideas on how I can burn G05 @ 2x?
Thanks in advance!

Try updating the firmware. It may be that the media ID isn't found in
the drive's tables, so it's falling back on a generic write strategy
(which often is burned at a slower speed, typically 2x, but may be as
slow as 1x).

The newest firmware has already been on the drive for about 3
months.Drive's max speed is 4x for both DVD+/-R but I wan't to be able
to burn these media at 2x.

I think I fixed the problem.I had to switch off the Smart-burn option
and now all of the burn-speeds are available.
