transport provider error

I get a tranport provider error whenever I send messages - even to one person.
Haven't ever been able to send messages w/ Outlook 97

Could you post the exact text of the message? Does your ISP require
authentication to the outgoing server? If so, you can't use Outlook 97 as
it doesn't have that ability.
