Transparent Windows - Not Borders????

Everything is working fin for me in Windows, Aero is working and looks great.
What I would love though, is to be able to have the interior of windows be
transparent as well. Is there a way to do this with Vista/Aero?

Thanks.

Vista itself cannot do so, but this third party tool is maybe what you want
to try :

Glass2k.exe is a tool that can adjust the transparency of windows. I have
tested it as I have read your question and it works on Vista RC1 as far as I
see. It works via right click in the window-titlebar where one can adjust
transparency from 10% to 100%. It works even if Aero is not available.

If you put in your startup folder it will be present on each Windows Start
in the tray.

Freeware for Windows :

I agree, you cannot make the interior transparent. But you don't want the
interior to be transparent, makes it very hard to see. That's probably why
they disabled the ability, not because it cannot.

There's no way to make all apps transparent, however thanks to the new
windowmanager in Vista it's easy to create apps that have transparent
parts. In Visual Studio there's even a property on standard Forms to
allow transparency. However for most apps trasparency is not such a good
idea since it will make the apps harder to use.

And as you can see by the link Sascha posted it's possible to manipulate
the windowmanager to repaint windows transparent.
