I'm following Jim Buyens instructions (which are great) for creating my drop
down menu. I'm at the step where I need to create a transparent gif and I'm
not sure how to do this. Will the gif significantly impact my page load time?

Thanks for the help!

Will the gif significantly impact my page load time?

Only if you are timing to the nearest nanosecond.

In your favorite graphics editor, create a 1px square image and export it as
a GIF with a transparent background. Behold - a transparent GIF that can be
resized as needed.

I'm at work at the moment and this computer doesn't have a graphics editor
installed. Can I make one in paint or in Frontpage itself? (if it wasn't
obvious, creating graphics isn't my thing).

Here's one for you. It's a 1 x 1 pix.
