All of a sudden when I apply a transparancy to a box I draw on a lsie, and
set it 75%, it has bo effect. The slider shows a transparancy change to the
color but after exiting out of format object window there is no chamge.
Thoughts?

Thanks folks!

Hmmm. What changed? Video settings, possibly? ISTR that there were some
issues with less than 24-bit color and transparency.

Hi Steve,

I cant think of anything that has chnaged. Out of curiosity, I opened
a brand new blank presentation and tried to place a transparancy on a
box and it worked fine. Must be something within this slide
template/layout. Hmmmm

Steve,

I found it quite by accident. For some reason it seems that if you
draw a box and the shadow settings are default to ON, it turns the
whole box black. So I was actually making the black box transparent by
75%, but since the black shadow was on underneath it there was no
visual change apparant!

Wow, that's one for the books. Echo's Second Edition of PPT Annoyances, maybe?
Write that 'un down, Echo!
