transitions

I have just started using Movie Maker and so far it's fun and easy. However,
when I put transistions between clips, the only place they display is just
before the first clip and at the end of the last clip.

I wanted to have 4 transitions between 6 movie clips but it doesn't work. It
causes a little effect, almost like water in the shape of the effect and
last's just a millisecond.

I know the effects are easy to drag and drop but this is weird. I can embed
audio and music with new problem or use the video effects. Just having this
problem with transitional effects.

First check what your default transition duration is set at - use the main
menu > Tools > Options > Advanced > Transition duration. Change it to what
you prefer - between 1/4 second and 5 seconds.

The default setting will apply to a newly added transition. It won't change
those already on the timeline.... to tweak one further on the timeline, drag
the clip to the right over the one before it and it'll change the transition
to any duration you want. It's lots easier to do it if you zoom into the
timeline.
