TRANSITIONS DON'T WORK

I am trying to put transitions between stills. When I click on a transition, the program shuts down and goes to the desktop, everytime, no matter what. I've read all the instructions. It just dosen't work. Is the movie maker a corrupt program?

Think yourself lucky ! At least it shuts itself down for you - mine crashes the PC everytime I try to add a transition and then preview it - or if I just edit with no transitions and then go to save the movie, 9 out of 10 times it just goes to "Not Responding". I'm running a P4 with a 2.7 processor and 512 of RAM so it's well within the spec required. Personally I think it's just another, "looks great, who cares if it doesn't actualy work - release it" type of programme.
