Transition repeat

When I did my first Movie Maker project, I somehow managed to apply a fade
transition to the entire slideshow with one process. I can't remember how I
did it. Can anyone help:

use the storyboard view.... select the first transition and the Control-A
keys to select them all.... then select the transition you want and do a
Control-D to add it to the project.
