Transferring Outlook 2003 to Vista but outlook.pst not working

Hi there

I'm tring to transfer my Outlook 2003 (Windows XP) to Vista. I saved the
file to a CD as outlook.pst but can't seem to import it into the Vista
version. I'm wondering if it's because the file is 0 bytes big, or if
there's another reason why I get 'access denied' or 'file in use' messages.
Could anyone advise?

Many thanks

Lot's of missing information here. First of all, importing is never the
correct way to transfer Outlook data. However, I suspect that is the least
of your problems.
A PST file should never be 0 bytes. The obvious question then becomes, how
did you create and transfer this file in the first place and what did you do
to corrupt it?
There are countless posts here that tell you how to transfer Outlook data
correctly. I'd suggest taking a look at them.

Hi Russ. I went to Data File Management in Outlook and that created a file,
which I copied to CD... I guess not very successfully! I thought the posts
I'd seen suggested doing that but I'll visit the ones you recommend. Many
thanks!

So you created a new empty PST file and copied that? You should have copied
your existing PST file--the one that contains all your data.
