Transferring FSMO

I read the few articles about transfering the FSMO roles. I want to do this
from my orginal DC to newer DC however I won't take my orginal DC (so it
will remain a DC). Just want it to be more of a backup. Any forseeable
issues or anything to be concerned about? New DC already is a GC and
haven't had any replication issues. New DC is been up and running for about
6 months.

Thanks.

My only reason for wanting to move it is it's on an older server and even
with Raid 5, if there was ever a bad crash, I would prefer not to seize the
roles. I assume if the roles are transfered to another DC, there are no
issues with leaving the orginal one online and not demoting it.

Correct - I transfer my FSMO roles as needed. Whenever a server starts
acting up for no apparent reason, I transfer the roles from it to reduce its
workload.

If everything is OK just transfer the FSMO role...

If it is the Infrastructure Master make sure the new target DC is not
as GC if:
* you have ANOTHER DC in the domain that is not a GC
* If you have a multiple domain forest

If you have a single domain forest make all DCs a GC!

It's a single domain forrest with 2 sites and 3 DC's. Orginal DC is also a
GC. The new DC is also a GC. The DC in the other site is not a GC.
