transferring files to another HD

I used the FAST wizard to transfer files to a new hard drive. Is there a
way to easily transfer my internet connections settings and drivers as well,
or do I have to do that device by device?

Thanks!

Hi Eddit,

See:

HOW TO: Save and Restore Dial-up Connections in Windows XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=284269

IIRC, the connectoid passwords are not transferred.

Thanks, but does that apply to broadband connections with an ethernet
port? I read it and it applies to dial-up connections.

If you connect via a router then the settings are in the router not the
network connection on the machine so there's nothing to transfer.....

I do not connect through a router. I have a cable modem plugged
directly into my computer's ethernet connector.

Then you need to re-install the software that came with your cable modem,
onto the new computer. That means you won't be able to transfer the
settings, you'll have to write them down and re-input them. can't be more
than about 10 seconds?

If I had the software...I will check the website and see if there is
software for download.

Thanks!
