transferring a database to Excel

I do a select query to get the information I want to transfer and then click
"File" then "Export." A window opens and asks where i want to send the
file. I click to a folder I call "Storage" and then go to the bottom of the
window and choose "Excel" in file type then give the file a name. When I
click OK the file is exported to 'Storage" named as I gave it and is ready
to be copied, emailed, etc. to the other computer for use as an Excel file.
I do this twice a month and it works fine.

One method that I tend to use for quickie exports to Excel is to first open
Excel. You can widen the various columns, if desired, to match the
approximate widths of the columns returned by your query. Then minimize Excel
to the taskbar. With your query closed, use the drag and drop technique to
drag it to the taskbar, over the minimized Excel application. Excel should
pop up on the screen. You can now drop the query on whatever cell you want,
by releasing the mouse button.
