transfering XP

How do I go about moving a copy of XP from one computer
to another. Without having Microsoft thinking it is
installed on 2 computers.

To transfer a retail license of Windows XP to a new computer, you must
remove Windows XP from the computer on which it is currently installed, and
then install it on the new computer. If internet activation fails on the
new installation, call Microsoft with the phone number provided and explain
the situation. You'll be given a new activation code.

Greetings --

Assuming a retail license, simply remove WinXP from the computer
it is currently on, and install it onto the new one. If it's been
more than 120 days since you last activated that specific Product Key,
you'll most likely be able to activate via the Internet without
problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone
call.
