I am trying to transfer my outlook from one computer to another. Is this
possible without losing the information in my inbox and other folders?

Yes. Mail, Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, .etc are stored in a file with a
*.PST extension. If moving the PST file from one computer to the next via a
CDR/RW, make sure that you burn the PST to the CDR/RW at 4x or slower.

Outside of that, you might like to take a look at
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm to get some information on where
outlook stores user data, file extension(s), what each does, .etc.
