Transfer Wizard Problem

I want to use the File and Setting Transfer Wizard to transfer files from my
old computer to my new one. When I try to create a Windows XP CD, since mine
was installed by the factory, it doesn't list my CD Drive as an option. It
only lists removable drives that I don't even have. For example, my drive is
"E", yet it offers me F, G, H, I as options. I hope someone can help. Is my
new computer defective or is the problem with the Wizard?

Are you trying to transfer the Operating system as well? If the answer
is yes then DON'T. You can't transfer OS to the new computer.

Only your own documents, settings, emails, pictures and perhaps any old
DOS programs. You can't transfer any windows installed programs or
operating system.

Now to run File transfer wizard, you need to:

Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, File & Settings
Transfer.

This is normally installed by default. It should also be in your OS CD
but that means you won't be able to use writeable CDs to copy files.

The other drives you mention must be factory installed hidden partitions
to keep images of your OS.

WOW - Lynn - I am having the exact same problem. My "E" drive does not show
up in the transfer wizard pull down menu. I just posted in the "GENERAL"
section and then I saw your post - I will try Andrew's fix and report back.

Andrew - I tired it but there is no "Source Path" for me to open. I only
have "Device path", "Media Path" and "Media Path Unexpanded". Any thoughts?
Maybe that's the issue????
