Transfer Wizard Can't find Computers on Network

On my 3-computer Ethernet home network, I can find all computers in Network
Neighborhood, can transfer files between them, etc. However, when I attempt
to use the files and settings transfer wizard on an old computer, the wizard
says it "cannot locate your new computer." If I try it on the new computer,
the wizard doesn't even provide me with the option of transferring over the
network. I ordinarily run Zone Alarm, but turning Zone Alarm off on both
computers makes no difference. I've shared everything, right down to the
system files. The new computer uses an Athlon 64 processor and is running XP
Home. The computer from which I'm attempting to transfer uses a Pentium
processor and is running XP Professional. What is the cause of the problem?

No one but you ever responded to my post. I never was able to get the
Transfer Wizard to work properly. I ended up transferring settings manually,
or setting up programs anew. I'll pre-emptively warn you that transferring
Outlook email messages was a particular pain. I could not simply copy them
from their folder in the old computer to their intended folder in the new
computer, nor could I simply import them or export them to the new computer.
I had to copy them to a separate folder, then import them from that folder.
(I can't remember if I had to copy them to a folder on the old computer, then
copy them from the folder on the old computer to a folder on the new
computer, then import them, or not. By the time I figured out everything I
had to do, I was too disgusted to remember everything I had done or to write
it down.

Thanks for the reply. I did a bit more playing around and found out that if
I logged in as the local administrator on both machines, I could use the
Network option. The machines are in the same domain, and I was originally
logged in as a domain user with full local admin privileges on both machines.

I wonder if the FAST Wizard only moves local accounts? Though I suspect
that's what you were using and had similar problems.
