transfer old programmes

I have a Dimension T500 with 12Gb Hard drive, running Win
Me. Running out of space so installed new 120 Gb HD as
new primary drive and installed OEM copy of XP Pro, all
of which installed fine...

Except I can't figure out how to get all my settings from
the old HD on to my new XP HD. Transfer manager
doesn't 'see' the old drive as anything other than a
separate volume with data.

Can any one help???

Hi,

To use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (fastwiz), you must actually
boot the old system and run the fastwiz to export the old to a file, then
boot the new and import it. It's a two step precess, read more on how to use

And the wizard will only transfer files and settings, as the name suggests.
You're still going to have to reinstall all of the programs you intend on
running.
