Hi all,

I need to move some files from one hard drive to another. I know XP has a
neat feature for this. How do I do that?
Thanks.

There are lots of ways. For example example, open two side-by-side instances
of My Computer, with the source in one and the destination in the other, and
then drag them from one to the other.

Drag the item from one disk to the other.

If you drag an item to another disk, it is copied, not moved. To move the
item, press and hold down SHIFT while dragging.

Dragging an .exe file that is not listed in App Paths moves the file.

Dragging an .exe file that is listed in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths
creates a shortcut.

To move an .exe that is listed in App Paths, right click and then drag the
..exe to the new location.

Many new drives come with software to do this. If yours doesn't, try a a
product like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost.
