transfer normal.dot from Word 97 onto Word 2003

I want to get all the customisation in my normal template (normal.dot) which
is on Word 97 into the normal template on a new computer which is running
Word 2003. Can I simply transfer my old normal.dot file to the templates
folder on the new PC (replacing the normal.dot that came with Word 2003) or
will there be a compatibility problem?

There may be some problems. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. You
could transfer styles in the old normal.dot to your new one using the
Organizer as described in that article. Other customizations you might as
well put in a separate global template.
