transfer data from win95 floppy to win98se to Vista

I found missing family photo's (jpg) on an old laptop installed with win95.
Am using Vista now. So i copied them to a floppy and am using another old
desktop with floppy and flash, installed with win98se, to download and
re-copy onto flash drive, then to copy into vista. Everytime i insert the
flash drive the 98se computer wont recognize it and crashes. Is there an
easier way to transfer these old .jpegs, or is there a driver i need to
download to succeed.

Have you considered purchasing or borrowing a USB external floppy drive?

Get them to the Win 98 machine, connect to the internet and e-mail them to
the Vista machine..

Frankly, I'd just pull the hard drive from the old laptop and, assuming it
has a standard connector, put it in a USB drive enclosure. Then connect
that to the Vista machine to copy over your files.

Windows 98 required custom drivers for the USB flash drives. One for each brand.
The flash drive vendor will have these on the web.

However, if the 98 computer does not have an internet connection and your Vista computer does not have a floppy, it may be easier to take the drive out of of 98 machine and with adapters, or external case, connect it to your Vista computer.

Here is one web site that has such adapters.

These will even let you connect your laptop hard drive to your Vista computer.

Wow. Stupid, obnoxious and can't spell. Congratulations, you are
officially a troll.

I said he should email the files to himself. You know, email them from
his old machine, then retrieve them on his new machine.

I know this is an advanced concept for you, but then not everyone is a
newsgroup jackass.

Bye.

PLONK!

Is the flash drive formatted using FAT? Win9x cannot use NTFS.
