I have xp home sp2. The other day I get a screen while booting up saying that
system\config is missing. I put in my windows home cd and try to repair my
windows. It wont let me because I get a blue screen stating there is a
registry error. I try 5 more times and keep getting the same error. I
reinstalled windows home without reformatting my HD. Relieved I saw all my
old programs and files still there. Although the desktop had changed and my
start menu. I can see my programs and files when I go to my computer it just
wouldnt let me go into them. Specifically I wanted to go into outlook because
I have some important info in there I want ot burn to CD. I reinstalled
office to try to get it to work. It reinstalled but I still couldnt see my
old files. Scared, i put in a new HD and made a new install of windows.
Basically I have an extra hard drive that has a bunch of files and info I
need but dont know how to use it. Any suggestions on what I can do?
