Transcend JetFlash USB 2.0 causes blue screen BAD_POOL_DATA with Win XP SP2

Problem
------------
I have a Transcend JetFlash 2.0 128MB storage device (aka Disk on
Key).
It uses a utility called U-Storage, used to fomat the device, and also
to control it's password protection mechanism.
I used it on Windows XP with SP1 and it worked fine.
When I installed SP2, I got a blue screen with the message
BAD_POOL_DATA when connecting the device.

Analysis
-----------
The previous version of Transcend's U-Storage utility causes this
crash.
They released a new version on 03-SEP-2004 for SP2.

Prognathous

This new version of U-Storage also works well with other USB disks, in
my case, a Pretec Tiny 2.0. Note however, that the dual disk feature
of v2.5 seems to be gone.
