tracking use of XP

I had my laptop stolen yesterday. Is there any way to
track whether it is being used through XP or windows
updates using the IP address or something?

There is no built-in tracking or tracing mechanism....sorry!

Call the manufacturer's Tech Support and report it stolen. If the thief ever
calls the manufacturer for support, it will set off a red flag and the
perpetrator will be brough to justice.

And, like most situations, learn your lesson and purchase a
tracking/security solution for your new laptop.
