Tracking attachments in Outlook 2007

In Lotus Notes, it was possible to delete an attachment, but still keep the
e-mail with the notification that the attachment(s) had been removed. Is it
possible to do this in Outlook 2007? Thanks.

Yes, but not from the reading pane. You have to open the message, then
right-click on the attachment, choose remove, and save. There isn't a
notification that anything was removed. Also, I don't think this works if
the attachment is within the message (rich-text format).

It works for any format. You might have to use Edit>Edit Message. You can
also insert text of your own to denote that you've removed the attachments.
In addition, there are third-party tools that can automate the process.
