Track changes



I'm new to using Microsoft Word XP. I used Word 97
previously. I do alot of changes to documents and used
the track changes in 97 version to keep track of my
changes. When I'm trying to use the track changes in the
new version it shows the strike through on the words that
I'm deleting. I don't want any of the other mark up to
show except the line that is placed in the left margin.
I need to be able to have the line in the left margin on
printed documents, but no other mark ups. How do I do
