Track Changes

What would cause the options for Accept Change and Reject Change to stop
working in Word 2003? These two options are grayed out on the Reviewing
toolbar.

The document I'm looking at has multiple changes that can be accepted or
rejected.

Is there a setting somewhere that I'm unaware of?

Embarrassingly enough, I discovered the answer to this: The document was
protected.

*sigh*
