Track Changes Removal of Reviewers Names

Can any one help

Problem 1: I'm using Word 2002 XP and trying to determine how to remove names from the reviewers list. The document was generated, passed around with Track Changes On and ALL Changes & Comments were fully accepted or rejected. There are no outstanding changes or comments in the document (as the reviewer's pane shows), however the Show|Reviewer's List still holds the full names of the 8 people who provided reviews. The issue is not so much that people's names are in the file as much as the fact that the list persists. Nothing seems to get these name out of the file, not even the Tools|Options|"Remove Personnel Information from this file on save" Option. Any ideas?

Problem 2: To make matters worst... even with Track Changes now turned Off, the document continues to Track Changes and generate new "change bars/strikeouts/ballons". Now, any changes to the document's Numbering or Bullets generates an automatic tracked change... even with track changes off. The author of the change is not me (who made the change), but the name (and old date) of the reviewer who had track changes turned on and performed some numbering and bullet reformatting. So it seems that forever, the document will continue to track format changes... even when track changes are turned off

Hi James

Problem 1: Save the file, close the file, exit Word. Re-start Word. You
should find that the names of the reviewers are no longer shown.
However, if you now start to edit the document (even with Track Changes
off), the Reviewing toolbar will show that you're an author of the
document.

Problem 2: It seems that Track Changes is on, even though it's telling
you it's off. I suggest that you double-click the TRK on the status bar
so that it's not dark. Press spacebar then backspace (to "dirty" the
document so Word will know to save it). Now, save the document and exit
Word. When you re-open the document, is it behaviour properly?

After you save the document having used "Remove Personal Information
from this file", you can check out just what personal information might
be left in the document. First, make a backup copy. Open the backup copy
in NotePad. Or, in Word, File > Open. In the Files of Type box, choose
"Recover text from any file". (This sticks, so change it back straight
away). You're now viewing the raw material of the document. Most of the
stuff about authors is at the end of the document.

For some reason, I have the name "Allan Stratton" listed in my list of
reviewers on the reviewing toolbar in Microsoft Word 2002 and this
person never reviewed any of my documents. What has me concerned is
that his name appears under the reviewing toolbar on all new/blank
documents and well as old/previously created docs. I have the latest
Norton AV definitions, Windows and Office 2002 patches, the Windows XP
firewall turned on, etc. How do I get rid of Allan Stratton's name
from the reviewing toolbar? Is this a virus? Someone posted the same
problem I am having on what looked like a Russian website, but no one
answered the question. Any ideas?

It turns out that Allan Stratton is an employee of ScanSoft, which makes the
TextBridge software that probably came with your scanner. If one of the
add-ins listed in Tools | Templates and Add-ins is TBRun97.dot, that's where
Mr. Stratton is coming from (the template was evidently saved without
accepting all changes and removing metadata). Nothing sinister, but it *is*
very annoying. Since the add-in is for Word 97, there's a good chance it
doesn't work properly with Word 2002, anyway, so you may want to remove it
from Word's Startup folder, which would solve the problem.
