track changes for different domain

Hi

We have several users in the office that want to have a different colour
when they are making changes to a document. Having a different colour per
user enables tracking of changes. Also we would like to find out if its
possible for a person outside of the company to have a track changes colour
that is not the same as the people in the office. For example, user1 can be
assigned red, user2 assigned blue, user3 assigned grey, and external user
assigned green etc

OK if I let Word 2007 decide which colour to allocate to a user by making the
username unique for each user including the external person, and specifiying
the track changes options to "By Author", will the external person have a
different colour to the people in the office?

Yes, as long as the number of editors does not exceed 8 since only 8 colors
are available in this situation (as described in Shauna Kelly’s article).
