Is there a file that will show all files being accesed as it is being
loaded? I am getting an error when I try to load a new program in or
uninstall one. It says shell32.dll is either missing or corrupt. It is in
C:\windows\windows32\shell32.dll. I have an other computer much the same as
the one I'm haveing this problem with, checked the file in that computer and
the shell32.dll file is the same, ver, size, date. I put this file in place of
the original and tried to install a program, same error message. So as I see
it it's not the shell file thats bad,but maybe a file calling the shell file
is either messed up or missing. What do you think?
Any help would be appreciated.

For Start | Run type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes. Click ok. Have
the XP OS Cd handy and insert it when asked.

If that doesn't help consider a repair install:

Another option is to do a system restore to before the problem occurred.
