Tracing dependents

I'm having a problem tracing my "dependents buton" using the auditin
toolbar. Basically it does not seem to work. i.e. it won't draw a lin
to the cell that is dependent

What's strange:

1) If I put a new dependant in the sheet it will work
2) If i goto a dependent cell I can trace precedents
3) If I copy the sheet to a new workbook it works fine

I have gone to tools-Options-view-objects and ensured "show all" wa
highlighted.

I have exceeded the automatic calculation threshold and have had to pu
my worksheet on manual calculation. But even if I switch this back t
manual calculation it doesn't work.

Copying to a new sheet is not a viable alternative.

It sounds like there are some locked and unlocked cells and your sheet is
protected. Excel won't show arrows if there is protection on a sheet.
