Trace handle on undeletable/unmovable file - how?

I shall be glad to know if there is any utility, and where, for finding out
what process has a handle or other "hold" on a file that cannot be deleted
or moved as it says it is in use by another process. Task Manager does not
reveal any related process running, however.

I have had a few instances lately when document files, after having worked
on them, could not be moved or deleted. These seem to happen at random to
different file types - MS Word docs, MS FrontPage htmls, Nero Recode digital
files, audio files are the ones that seem to be affected so far. At random
though.

System clean of any mal ware. Fully patched with latest updates.

Any suggestion much appreciated.
