Totaling number of personnel of a group

I have 3 groups of personnel. How do I get a total of each group in a report?
 
By total I assume you mean a count of the number of people in each group. If
so group the report on whatever field or expression identifies each group and
give the group a group footer. Add a text box to the footer with a
ControlSource of:

= Count(*)
