total screen corruption 9800 pro

Card isnt overclocked or tweaked at all, yet every so often in 3d games, the
xp aquarium screensaver & occasionally windows itself, the screen will
become totally corrupted, like the monitor is out of sync but in very small
blocks & with large traingles swimming accross the screen also corrupted
(sorry its a bit hard to describe, i work in tech support & have never seen
anything like this before, but am kinda convinced its not a monitor sync
issue). If i power off the comp i can just about make out the blue shutting
down windows screen. Its erratic quite often it will go all day without any
probs, other days 2 or 3 times an evening. Have tried catalyst 3.7 thru to
3.10's, have completely blown away & reinstalled windows, have tried a
different monitor cable (my monitor has 2 inputs standard svga & bnc). I'm
not sure if this is related but every so often the monitor will go black for
just a split second before starting the screen saver or changing a web page
etc, buts its always done that so i got used to it.

What is your case cooling like? Sounds plausible that the memory (on the
card) is overheating.

Try the Artifact tester that comes with the Omega drivers. It's designed to
check the video card's stability (memory) when overclocked, so it should
work fine and do a routine check at default clock speeds. If you find that
you do get artifacts, you can try underclocking the memory a bit until your
card reaches stability, or if it does not run without artifacts, then you
know for sure that your card is hosed.
