Total remove of Hardware

Hi there,

Win XP Prof (SP1 at this stage)

I'm busy reloading my whole system after I re-formatted my HDD because of
some reason it re-started after I have chosen to shut down. It's only now
that i have discovered that it was a hardware thing: something on a USB 2.0
universal PCI-card caused this to happen. I have already installed the
drivers and everything for this USB-card. Is there some way I can totally
remove every single file of this driver OR what on this PCI-card can cause
my PC to re-start in stead of shut down.

Regards,

The drivers for USB 2.0 should be already part of SP1, so you should not
need to install the "other" drivers.

Now, you will need to turn off the Automatic Restart on error option.

Right click on My Computer
Click on Advanced tab
Click on Setting in Start and Recovery section
In the System Failure section, uncheck Automatic Restart. Reboot if
necessary.

This should then be able to tell you where the "real" problem is.
