It's been a while since you posted your question, but I just read it today
on the 17th. My wife was having the same problem with hers for months, and
after trying many solutions from many sources...the one that worked for us
was the easiest: a phone-call to Toshiba revealed a new BIOS update which
addresses the problem! It worked like a charm and hasn't turned itself off
since!

My laptop just shuts off without warning. Especially when
running Norton Virus scan or compiling source code. Any
ideas?
