For AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Cores? From like 3800 - 6000+'s?

I hae been perusing through Zalman & Artic Cooling's offerings. Also been
flipping through my past 2 1/2 years of Max PC mags.

Also, thank you for your answers & advice to my previous post of 10/22/2007
on/in this NG & others. =)

Can't go wrong with the Thermalright 90 or 120 .. if your case can handle it
... most can .. go to their site and see compatibility.

I snagged one of the AMD Stock sinks that come with the
Opteron's. They are large and use heat pipe technology. I have an AMD X2
3800+ and using one of these dropped the average temp of this proc from
about 106F to about 99F or whatever the chassis temp is at the time. They
use better materials on their Opteron server level chips. We always have
tons of extras where I work because we use 1U chassis which are not
compatible with the stock fan's. I paid big bucks for a Volcano fan a
couple years ago for my Socket A system, it was too loud and didnt help
all that much. Though for all of my sinks I use Arctic Silver thermal
compound.

My 2 Cents,

I like the coolermaster geminii, if you can get it on sale for $20 at newegg
or whereever, at this price and especially if you already have a 120mm fan
to put on it, it's an excellent deal. The thermalright 120extreme is prolly
the best on the market, but at $80 is way overpriced.
