Correct me if I'm wrong, but the virus sample selection process that
preceded this test does not seem to have been in accordance with
scientific standards...

Can't say I've had any problem with it (NIS 2005) in the last 3 months or so
on XP Home, other than it forcing a restart (by design) when some updates
have taken place. I dumped McAfee because I couldn't update when I wanted
to - only when it wanted to. Now I make sure I've got nothing important
running when I update NIS, because I know I'll have to interrupt it sooner
or later to do that damned restart.
But it seems the way a lot of software is going, IMHO, not just antivirus
programs.
